Awake and vigilant

The devil is subtle and deceitful and will always attempt to lead us away from serving God. The Bible encourages us to be sober and vigilant because the devil is predatory by nature and prowls around like a roaring lion seeking someone to devour.

Therefore let us aim to be spiritually awake and watchful so we are not deceived and do not fall into his trap.

THOUGHTS TO PONDER ON

  1. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. (1 Pet 5:8)

  2. Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober. (1 Thes 5:6)

  3. But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation. (1 Thes 5:8)
