Spirit Filled

Being filled with the Spirit is a command we must take seriously. It is not an option open to negotiation or reasoning as some may think when they are filled with hatred, anger, malice, slander or addictive substances such as alcohol and drugs. Presenting our bodies in this condition to God in worship will be in vain because it will not please Him. But rather, when we are filled with the Spirit, we will naturally walk the Christian walk in the way of the Spirit showing love, joy, peace, patience, kindness and the like. Therefore, in order to walk by the Spirit it is necessary to live the life we have been called to live - in holiness, and in so doing, walking by the Spirit is a command that should come easily. (Gal 5:16). In all aspects of our lives Jesus should always be our role model. If we follow His example doing good and being of the same mind and attitude, we will naturally grow into spiritual maturity.
THOUGHTS TO PONDER ON
As God’s children we have everything in terms of our position. We are children of God; we have been adopted into God’s family; we are heirs to the throne of grace and we are part of the church. Yet some Christians are lacking important characteristic qualities or attributes which are necessary to live a Spirit-filled life.
